Wagering Requirements Demystified
Have you stumbled across some wagering requirements for an online casino promotion yet? If you've been around a casino even for a short time, you may have spotted that wording in the small print for a bonus offer.
But what does it mean and what should you know before claiming a bonus that has these terms? Find out more below.
What is a wagering requirement?
This is a value - given as a multiplier - that tells you how many times you are required to bet the sum of your deposit plus bonus before withdrawing becomes a possibility.
Look for the lowest multiplier you can in this instance, as it is quicker to reach and therefore will involve less money. Some casinos have high wagering that can reach 40x or above, so those are tougher to reach.
Are they easy to meet?
We've seen how the multiplier holds the answer here. Of course, that's only half the equation - you also need to think about the value of your deposit and therefore the bonus funds as well. The more you deposit, the more you're going to need to bet on the games before you reach the requirements.
Since you can (or should) be able to read the terms and wagering conditions prior to claiming a casino bonus, make sure you do so. Do some figures too, so you can find out whether you've spotted a decent bonus that is easy to claim and achieve wagering for if you take it.
Can you get casino bonuses that do not have any wagering requirements?
You can, although they're generally tougher to find. There are a couple of casinos that have resorted to these offers to help them stand out though. You'll always note the 'no wagering' information heavily promoted on such sites.
This means the offer does not ask you to meet wagering restrictions. Instead, you are like to spot a cap for the amount you could withdraw against the offer. If the deal is capped at $20 in winnings, for instance, you could win over and above this amount and still only be able to withdraw $20. Be aware of all the small print for all wagering on bonuses you spot at online casinos, just so you know how it works.
