You love it or hate it, but you have to admit karaoke is a major form of entertainment in some venues nowadays. Maybe that’s why Microgaming has come up with a new slot game based on that very theme.
At first glance, it’s not quite on par with some of their other games; the design doesn’t quite seem as eye-catching. Mind you, they’ve set such high standards for themselves and so regularly exceed them that a great game doesn’t always get enough credit. So is this great or even better?
It’s a five-reel effort with fairly few paylines, numbering nine in all.
You don’t have to include all the lines on every spin here. There is a tiny arrow in the top right corner of the bet box, where you can adjust the lines, coin values and the number of coins on each bet.
Coin sizes range from a cent to a dollar, with coins ranging from one to five per line.
The game logo is the wild, and it can substitute for most other symbols apart from the dice roll scatter symbol. The wild also doubles the value of any prizes you manage to get with its help.
The scatter symbol has the ability to win you 15 free games if you can get at least three in a spin. Any win you happen to get during a free game is multiplied by three. You can also retrigger those freebies if you get lucky once again.
No – the free spins are the limit of the fun here. There is a gamble feature that allows you to try and get a bigger win in a ‘double or nothing’ gamble. Beware, though – it’s an easy way to ditch the prize you just got!
So, this game is better than you might at first think, especially with the free spins and the multipliers in force for those and for wild wins. But with no bonus feature aside from that, it’s not the best in the huge Microgaming armory of games.
However, any Microgaming release is worth a shot, especially when you get a go for free.
